Terrarium : How to Make It and Design It

Terrarium is a type of miniature ecosystem.  It usually uses a glass container, which can be opened for watering and maintaining the design of the garden inside.

The first terrarium was dated back in 1842 by a botanist named Nathaniel Bagshaw Ward.  The success growth of his plant then  becomes a fashionable trend among the British in the Victorian era.

How to Make a Terrarium :

Materials :
glass container or aquarium
charcoal piece
soil, plants
sheet moss
small watering can
small trowel
decorations

Instruction :
1. Install 1-2 inches of charcoal at the base of your container.
2. Combine soil with the remaining charcoal.
3. Fill 1/3 part of your container with the soil mixture, gently pat the soil to release the air in it.
4. Remove your plants carefully from the pots, and put them in place, deep enough to cover all roots.
5. Put the moss sheet between the plants on top of the soil.
6. Place your container in an indirect light area, water the plants carefully
7. Place your house miniatures or other decorations.
8. You may trim any branches or leaves to maintain your terrarium in good shape.
